Fashion Industry Expert & Author to Speak at ECRM Gold  12/30/2016

“Fashion Disrupted”: The challenges for 21st century marketers to engage consumers amid the game-changing realities of fast-fashion, online shopping and casual dress codes. Fine jewelers, for example, need a convincing value proposition to woo jaded millennials to splurge on gold, diamonds and pearls.

At the ECRM Gold EPPS, to be held February 19 to 21 in San Diego, longtime Wall Street Journal fashion industry expert, “Ask Teri” columnist and award winning journalist, Teri Agins will share her expertise from the front lines, including insights from her most recent book: “Hijacking the Runway, How Celebrities are Stealing the Spotlight from Fashion Designers.”

Agins began her career working as a reporter at DNR (Fairchild Fashion Media) and as a freelance writer for the New York Times and Time Magazine. In 1984, she was hired as a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, and in 1989 she launched the fashion beat for the paper, becoming a pioneer in the business of fashion reporting. Agins retired from her post at the Wall Street Journal in 2009, but continued to work for the newspaper and other publications, including Vogue, Town & Country, O: The Oprah Magazine, and Essence. She is the author of The End of Fashion: How Marketing Changed the Clothing Industry Forever.
