Updates regarding the Novel Corona Virus

March 13, 2020

Our clients safety and well-being is our top priority; but equally important, is our ability to execute a valuable and credible program for our industry & category communities. With those things in mind, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule and cancel the following Programs:

  • Pet Program
(rescheduled) The rescheduled date is July 20-23, 2020, at the same location, The Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, IL.
  • Valentine’s Day Candy Boutique
(cancelled) As we know timing of this Program is critical, we have talked to the buyers registered and are actively working on how we can still assist in their Valentine’s Day planning. We will be in touch soon with opportunities whether they be virtually or in person.

Again, a heartfelt thank you to all of our clients for their understanding and continued support.

After much review, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our Foodservice Programs taking place next week at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. After getting enthusiastic responses last week, we thought the program could still take place in a safe and productive environment, but as we all watch the news unfold around the Coronavirus, we cannot predict how this will impact attendance fully and would like to reschedule to a time when everyone feels safe and has the ability to be productive!

Again, a heartfelt thank you to all of our clients for their understanding and continued support.

During this time of uncertainty, ECRM is committed to providing ongoing guidance and support to our buyers and suppliers. As a sense of apprehension over the Coronavirus affects our Industry, we strive to continue to create meaningful connections between buyers and suppliers with safe, curated, face-to-face programs and through the scaled technology of the RangeMe platform.

Over the past couple days we have been in communication with our Buyer and Supplier community to understand their needs, their wants and their overall feelings regarding many of our upcoming Programs – an overwhelming majority of the community want and need these Programs to continue in order to grow their businesses; but, many have concerns regarding the scale and trajectory of the Coronavirus within the next few weeks.

With that, we have made the difficult decision to re-schedule the following Programs:

As this decision and situation is still quite fluid, we will provide additional specifics as soon as possible.

We are working diligently through our options – determining the best course of action that is required to continue to bring Buyers and Suppliers together through curated, highly focused Category Programs. We are confident and optimistic that we can deliver the same level of service our clients have come to expect from ECRM when the timing and environment will support such a decision.

In the meantime; if you are part of a buying team affected by travel bans, canceled trade events and/or are thinking ahead into the uncertain immediate future, ECRM will work with you and your team to leverage our tailored service, as well as the agility of RangeMe, to address your specific sourcing needs. We will continue to connect you with the right products and the right suppliers to help you achieve category success.

For those Suppliers, especially those emerging or challenger brands, who deeply rely on our Programs and outside trade events – ECRM, and RangeMe, are committed to being a channel and tool for you to accelerate your business and enhance your sales strategy. We also understand the cost and time associated with your involvement in our Programs and we want to be sure you continue to achieve positive ROI.

Out of adversity comes opportunity and innovation; we must all be resilient and have the strength and wisdom needed to persevere in these times of uncertainty.

Thank you to all of our clients for their understanding and continued support.

Throughout the world, businesses are dealing with the consequences of the Novel Corona Virus. ECRM is no different – we are monitoring this virus closely and taking preliminary precautions onsite during our Programs.

Health concerns have to come first in times like this; yet we, as a business, must attempt to remain rational and focused. As leaders in our Industry – we strive to do just that.

After reviewing advice from global health authorities like the World Health Organization, the Center for Disease Control, as well as national and local authorities we have decided to continue with our Programs in America and Asia as planned. In Europe, we re-scheduled our European Dry Food Program in Rome from the week of March 22nd to the week of September 21st.

The extent of this virus in most geographies is not sustained or widespread and we are optimistic that our scheduled Programs will transpire as planned; but we will continue to closely monitor this situation while keeping our clients safety and well-being top of mind.

Providing a safe environment where our clients can meet and conduct business is of the utmost importance – to this end, we will promptly communicate any changes to our current plans on this webpage as well as through email to our affected participants.
