How Brands Can Supercharge Sales With TikTok Shop  8/22/2024



TikTok Shop is changing the way brands do ecommerce. 

Launched in the U.S. less than a year ago, it's quickly becoming a major ecommerce player across many categories (it's already the 9th largest ecommerce retailer in the health and beauty category, according to NielsenIQ). 

The reason is simple: It layers a seamless digital shopping experience on top of a social media platform that has a built-in hyper-engaged audience. 

Not surprisingly, TikTok Shop is a place where brands want to be, and according to Category & Business Development Manager Edward Chen, who spoke with Joseph Tarnowski at ECRM School & Office and Consumer Tech Sessions last week, there are several ways brands can convert with TikTok Shop. 

What TikTok Shop Offers:

This includes the live shopping experience, in which the brand can sell while shooting a live video -- a product demo, for example. There is also the Shop Tab, which curates a selection of products based on a TikTok user's interests. Then there is a search function, which enables users to easily find specific categories or products. Finally, there is the brand page itself which, once set up, is like a brand's store within TikTok. Users can visit the brand page and shop all of its available products.

In the video, Edward shares the various ways in which brands can work with TikTok Shop and provides details on what the onboarding process is like for those brands interested in getting onto the platform.

And while it was Chen's first time at an ECRM Session, he will be back for several more in the coming months. "I loved the experience," he says. "They made it so easy for us. Instead of going to a trade show and kind of tiring yourself out, everything here is really planned out for you. All of the brands were so excited and so animated, so passionate about their products. It feels like you're joining a family and hanging out with your best friends."
