KIWA Cassava Chips win ECRM Latin American Retail – Food & Beverage Buyer’s Choice Award  12/18/2020

The two winners of ECRM’s Buyers Choice Awards from our recent virtual Latin American Retail - Food & Beverage Program have developed innovative products that are on trend with what consumers are looking for right now.

With consumers growing more conscious and aware of their health, specialty diets and healthier snacking is more prevalent among consumers and both of our Latin American – Food & Beverage Buyer’s Choice Award winners fall into this growing trend.

KIWA won the Buyer’s Choice Award for their Cassava Chips at the virtual session while Alasature came in a close second for their Keto Cajun Chicken Pizza.

The products were selected from dozens of entries submitted by participating suppliers. Buyers were able to evaluate each entry and cast their votes based on product packaging and innovation via the Buyers Choice Awards section of the ECRM Connect platform.

Cassava is widely known to be one of the most versatile roots in the market. Kiwa’s cassava roots are hand-picked by low-income farmers in the tropical zones of Ecuador in South America. They are washed, peeled and carefully selected to get the best quality chips.

The Kiwa Spicy BBQ Cassava Chips maintain all the key advantages from their original chips, they are kettle-cooked, Gluten-free, Non-GMO and Kosher. Only natural ingredients without additives or preservatives are used and the chips have 12 months of shelf life.

Alasature is a Spanish multinational company that specializes in functional and dietetic foods based in Galicia, Spain. Operations in Europe were started in 2016 and in America and Latin America in 2020.

When it comes to their Keto Approved – Cajun Chicken Pizza, the crunchy dough is made from soy flour, almond, spelled, gluten, locust bean gum, dry yeast, sea salt, olive oil and water. With a delicious base of mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, baked chicken, oregano and Alasature Cajun spices.

Congratulations to these companies who are bringing innovation to the Latin American retail market.
