What Retail Buyers Want: Asian Beauty, Personal & Health Care  7/31/2017

As part of their preparation for ECRM’s 60+ EPPS meetings, buyers complete a form on the ECRM prep site, indicating the subcategories they are buying for, and on what areas they are focusing their buying efforts. We have some great attending buyers and distributors representing Asia, the Middle East and Australia, including companies such as A.S. Watson, The Dairy Farm Co., Coupang, Lazada, and PT Hero.

Based on this information, collected from more than 50 buyers, category managers and distributors attending ECRM’s upcoming Asian Beauty EPPS meetings, here are a few key areas of interest:

Prestige Beauty: Medium- to high-end color cosmetics and skin care products.

Multiple Price Points: Across all of the beauty, personal, and health care categories, buyers and distributors are seeking products in a wide range of price points, ranging from extreme value to very high end. The following are the most common price ranges indicated: $1 to $5; $5 to $10; $10 to $25 and $50 and up.

Innovation: New and innovative beauty personal care, and health care products featuring breakthrough technology and formulations not yet in the market.

Wellness: Products that provide solutions to improve quality of life and inform/educate consumers on how to adopt a proactive and preventative attitude toward beauty, health and wellness.

Private Label:
Health and beauty products and accessories that can be offered under the retailer’s brand.
