Wakefern is the nation’s largest retailer-owned cooperative and is comprised of 50 member companies who own and operate retail supermarkets under the ShopRite, Price Rite and The Fresh Grocer banners across nine states.

The company operates approximately 4 million square feet of grocery and non-food warehousing, and its wholesale client base benefits from the company’s extensive portfolio of services, including innovative technology, private label development, and best-in-class procurement practices.

During this on-demand webcast, which was sponsored by Market Track, Chris Skyers, Wakefern’s VP of Health & Beauty Care, and Beauty Category Managers Neetu Aneja and Amanda Hoffman discussed Wakefern’s brand message and strategy, and provide guidance on how suppliers can most effectively conduct business discussions to help build a better partnership with the co-op, its retailer-members, and the unique communities served by each.

Among the topics discussed were:

  • Wakefern's strategies for connecting with millennial and multicultural beauty consumers.
  • Protocols and procedures to follow in dealing with its buyers and category managers
  • Best practices for engaging Wakefern to develop a brand message that is consistent while at the same time meeting the needs of the broad range of communities served by Wakefern member-retailers
The webcast will also included a brief presentation from Traci Gregorski, SVP of Marketing for Market Track, on cross media trends in advertising and promotions that are driving beauty sales aimed at the Millennial and multicultural market.
