ECRM, WSL Strategic Retail Launch Shopper Insights Video Series  8/18/2016

ECRM and WSL Strategic Retail are teaming up to provide retailers and suppliers with shopper insights based on WSL's extensive research and data on how consumers shop. The content will be delivered in a series of bi-weekly videos featuring WSL CEO & Chief Shopper Wendy Liebmann and President Candace Corlett, both well-known for their industry keynotes, articles, and news commentary on shopper insights.

WSL will also provide regular insights and data developed to help retailers and suppliers prepare for meetings with retail buyers delivered via presentations at ECRM EPPS meetings, articles on ECRM's Content Gateway, and insights on the MarketGate Prep Site -- the area on ECRM's Marketgate platform where registered buyers and sellers prepare for their EPPS meetings.

"It's important for suppliers to have their finger on the pulse of consumer trends in their category when they are pitching their product to a retail buyer," said WSL's Liebmann. "WSL's shopper insights can help these suppliers to frame their presentation in the context of the needs and demands of today's shopper."

In the first video of the series, Liebmann discusses the impact of mobile on how consumers shop the store. According to WSL research, 31 percent of shoppers use their mobile phone while in the store to help with their shopping decisions, a number which had double in the past two years, and which reaches 58 percent among Millennials. She discusses which categories are popular among these mobile-using consumers, and provides some recommendations on how brands can best reach these shoppers on their mobile platforms.
