Podcast: The Road to Success - Nicky Jackson, CEO of RangeMe  8/15/2017

In this episode of the On the Shelf podcast, Timothy Bush of TLB Consulting interviews Nicky Jackson, Founder and CEO of RangeMe, an online platform --acquired by ECRM this past June -- that streamlines new product discovery between suppliers and retailers. It manages proposals from thousands of suppliers across multiple categories, making it easy for buyers to quickly hone in on the products that are right for them.

During the discussion, Tim and Nicky discuss her history as a marketing executive at Kellogg’s, Uncle Toby’s, Goodman Fielder, Pepsico and Jim Beam, the origin of RangeMe, the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship, as well as some valuable insights for emerging brands.

They also field some questions from the On the Shelf podcast audience (his "Big Boxers"), which consist of suppliers looking to get onto the shelves of major retail chains.

About Nicky Jackson
The concept of RangeMe came to Nicky in 2013 while developing a range of baby skincare products. Looking for ways to achieve fast distribution, she had the idea to create a single network to match sellers with buyers looking for products like theirs.

Under her leadership, the platform has reached several key milestones, including 75,000 registered suppliers and 250,000 active products across all food and nonfood categories – driving more than 2.5 million views from retail buyers from the nation’s largest retailers including Target, Whole Foods Market, Albertsons Safeway, Sephora, Petco, Jet.com and more. The success of the platform led to Shop.org naming RangeMe as its 2016 Startup of the Year.

Based on the strength and reach of the platform, Nicky sold RangeMe to ECRM in June 2017, remaining at the helm to run the company as a division within ECRM. She is now working with ECRM leadership to integrate RangeMe into ECRM’s format and process to further streamline the retail buying process across digital and face-to-face platforms, and in July launched a premium version of RangeMe that offers suppliers additional insights

Nicky is also a leading voice for women in business and technology, and plays an active role at industry events and in organizations. She has a chair on NRF’s Digital Council, and has spoken at several leading retail events over the past year, including ShopTalk, FMI Executive Leadership Forum, Shop.org, and Retail Disrupted.
